The
style of New York headshots has traditionally been to show
a very natural somewhat close up of the face, hence the name headshot,
as in this black and whiteheadshot of English actress, Louise. More and more actors
and casting directors, especially in Los Angeles, are requesting
to see a headshot in color. Typically, Steve Landis will shoot
a combination of black and white and color comprised of close ups
for the New York headshot market and a more pulled back three quater
style shot for the LA headshot market.

"I
think its good to break the mold a bit and
present a headshot that is not so cliched. You need to grab
the attention of the casting director, and with a good headshot
you can hopefully do that", says Landis.
Louise had her New York style headshots photographed
by Steve Landis in the New York studio. LA or NY; most actors
like to work in both markets, so it is a good idea to work with
several separate headshot pictures, depending on the type of casting
you are up for.
Steve
Landis shoots in a lush classic style of artistic portrait
photography. His high quality color and black and white photography
and headshots are well known amongst a select group of recording
artists, models and actors.
