"We
had shot many pictures all through the day through bad weather
and all, we did not have a choice, we needed to get the job done.
However, I kept pushing the cover shot off, doing everything else
first, praying for better light. The sun broke through the
clouds on the Point des Artes for exactly one minute at approximately
7:25pm, after a long day of clouds and drizzle. It was just
long enough for us to get a roll of film off and hopefully secure
our cover. At the magazine upon delivery of the film,
the art director couldn't believe the results, he said it was
a miracle, that there had been no sun that day. Only on
the Point des Artes for that one minute."

This
was shot on a location trip to Africa for the British fashion publication
COMPANY. The light in Africa is often more diffused and warm
in color tone due to the vast amount of haze caused by the sand
that gets blown up into the upper atmosphere.
